Description
Achieving and maintaining the stability of the implant are necessary conditions for the successful installation of a dental implant. Implant stability can be defined as the absence of clinical mobility, which is also the proposed definition of osseointegration. The primary stability of the implant during installation is a mechanical phenomenon that is associated with the quality and quantity of the local bone, the type of implant and the installation technique used. Secondary implant stability is an increased instability caused by the formation and remodeling of bone at the implant/tissue boundary and in the surrounding bone. There are many ways to assess implant stability, such as clinical measurement of cutting resistance during implant placement, reverse torque test, periotest and resonance frequency Analysis (RFA) (1,4,6).
